Condition types

This page is a reference to all the available condition types and condition operators. See Conditions to learn more.

The available condition types depend on the operation category. Conditions use the following scope:

Operation category Condition scope
Shipping Conditions are evaluated separately for each current delivery group. Product, line item, destination, and shipping rate values come from that group. Cart-wide values, such as Cart Value and Shipment Count, keep their whole-checkout meaning.
Payment Conditions are evaluated against the checkout as a whole, including all of its line items and delivery groups. Billing address and payment method values come from the checkout.

The Available in column below shows where each condition type can be used.

Condition type Value type Available in What it reads
Customer Tags String All operations Tags on the customer in checkout. A guest checkout has no customer tags, so a positive tag match does not match a guest.

Country Code* String Shipping The destination country code, such as US, CA, or GB.
Province Code* String Shipping The destination province or state code.
Postal Code String Shipping The destination postal or ZIP code.

*Country and Province codes use the ISO-3166-1 alpha-2 and ISO-3166-2 specifications respectively.

**UK Postcode condition types use the Area and Outcode component of the postcode. Read more about UK Postcode format here.

P.O. Box condition type operators skip the usual Value input — they use a predefined pattern that identifies whether address line 1 or line 2 is a P.O. Box. Recognized formats include “PO Box,” “P.O. Box,” “Post Office Box,” and “Postal Box” — typical street addresses, like “123 Boxwood Lane” or “456 Post Road,” won’t be mistaken for one.
